ISAA Training Workshop
A hybrid, hands-on workshop on the Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism — for psychologists, students and allied professionals. Held in collaboration with The National Trust.
Building Skilled, Confident Assessors
On Friday, 31st July 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, PANKH hosted a focused, hands-on workshop on the Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism (ISAA) — the standardised instrument used across India for autism assessment and certification. Delivered in hybrid mode, it brought together practising psychologists, postgraduate students and allied professionals, both at our Centre in Paragon Plaza and online.
Dr. Firdos Jahan
Clinical Psychologist, DEIC – Centre of Excellence, J.N. Medical College, A.M.U., Aligarh. Dr. Jahan led participants through the theory, administration and scoring of ISAA with practical, real-world grounding drawn from clinical practice.

What the Workshop Covered
ISAA in Context
The place of ISAA among Indian assessment instruments, and the statutory context in which it is used for autism certification.
Structure of the Scale
The six domains and the forty items, with the behavioural anchors that distinguish each rating point.
Administration in Practice
Observation, parent interview, and the sequencing of items during a live assessment session.
Scoring & Interpretation
Computation of the total score and interpretation of severity bands.
Rating Errors & Limits
Common rating errors, inter-rater variation, and what the instrument does not establish on its own.
Guided Practice
Hands-on practice using the fillable ISAA form, followed by open discussion of participant queries.
Certificates & Certification
Every participant received a Certificate of Participation issued by PANKH, signed by the Resource Person and the Director, and authenticated by RCI-registered professionals. Please note: this is a certificate of participation, not an RCI-approved Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) programme.
